چکیده
Abstract Background Better management of persistent pulmonary hypertension neonates (PPHN) required new markers that can predict the response patient to treatment and thus influence medical decision avoid short-term long-term adverse effects. Hence, we aimed evaluate B-natriuretic peptide (BNP) serum levels in with PPHN correlate its disease severity treatment. Patients methods The study included 60 (30 patients 30 healthy subjects). BNP was assessed, using ELISA technique, at admission after 4 days Results Initial were significantly higher compared controls ( p < 0.001). mild showed lower moderate severity, while decreased comparison severe cases group who remission had pre-treatment post-treatment levels, incomplete remission. strong positive correlations artery pressure (PAP) oxygenation index (OI) before r = 0.9, 0.001 0.85, 0.001), PAP 0.6, 0.001) OI Analysis ROC curve revealed an AUC 0.83with CI 0.7–0.98 0.003. Conclusions may play a role pathogenesis PPHN, level be used as marker detect

Evaluation of Serum Levels of N-terminal Pro Brain Natriuretic Peptide and Atrial Natriuretic Peptide in Neonates with Respiratory Distress
Background: Acute respiratory distress (ARD) is a critical respiratory failure due to lung injury of neonates leading to the clinical appearance of poor lung compliance. The aimed of the study was to evaluate the diagnostic values in differentiating respiratory from heart diseases with using of N-terminal pro brain natriuretic peptide (NT-pro BNP) and Atrial natriuretic peptide(ANP) in neonates...

Background Respiratory Distress (RD) is a life-threatening respiratory failure. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic value of N-terminal prohormone of brain natriuretic peptide (NT-pro-BNP) in distinguishing respiratory and heart diseases in neonates. Materials and Methods Hundred fifty neonates aged 2-3 days randomly collected from those who hospitalized in the related ward of the Ali ...

متن کاملThe Relationship between Serum Pro‐Brain Natriuretic Peptide (Pro‐BNP) Levels and Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) in Patients with Limited Scleroderma
Introduction: Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a late progressive sclerodermarelated complication, which can lead to right heart failure and cor pulmonale. Given that cardiac catheterization is a diagnostic method of choice for PAH, and considering the high risks of this method, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between serum Pro‐Brain natriuretic peptide (Pro‐B...
متن کاملEffect of obesity on B-type natriuretic peptide levels in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension.
Brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) levels are lower in obese patients with left ventricular failure than in their comparably ill, leaner counterparts. The effect of obesity on BNP in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is unknown. We reviewed our prospective PAH registry data collected from November 2001 to December 2007 for patients undergoing right heart catheterization who met t...
